In a family-internal guardianship dispute, the Italian screen legend fights for her dignity. “I don’t deserve to be humiliated like this,” she said in an emotional TV interview on Sunday evening and pleaded: “Please leave me my peace.”

Lollobrigida was assigned a guardian by the Italian Supreme Court in October on the initiative of her son Milko Skofic (64), without whom she is not allowed to make financial decisions. Skofic claims that his mother is no longer mentally sane, and that she is being exempted from her assistant Andrea Piazzolla (early 30s), who is over 60 years her junior.
