Everyone remembers the great cartoon “Conan and Lana”? Well, the novel at the base of this series by Miyazaki previously published under the name After the wave (The Incredible Tide)it is presented here in a brand new translation by Ynnis.

At 17, Conan is a survivor. After years of conflict that have ravaged the planet, he finds himself alone on a rocky island, hostile terrain on which he learns to survive, with birds for only company. His isolation ends the day an enemy ship takes him away. He then landed in Industria, a city under the supremacy of the New Order. The young man thinks of fleeing, but a threat rumbles and the last men are actually in serious danger…

Alexander Key’s novel “Conan the Son of the Future” inspired director Hayao Miyazaki for his eponymous animated series released in 1978. Escape to Witch Mountain has also been adapted for film by Walt Disney Studios for the first time in 1975.
