A city bus hit a bus stop in the center of Den Bosch this afternoon. Six people who were waiting there were injured.
The accident happened in the street Achter Het Wild Varken in the city center. Four of the six injured were taken to hospital. The other two were taken to an ambulance at the scene.
Omroep Brabant reports that the victims were injured, among other things, by flying glass.
Pure bad luck
An investigation by the police showed that the bus driver accidentally hit the tip of the glass roof of the bus shelter. Then it fell down. According to the police, the victims were in the bus shelter at the time.
“It really is pure accident,” said a spokesman. “There was a cloudburst in Den Bosch and the driver wanted to stop as close as possible to the bus stop, so that the travelers could arrive with dry feet. He hit the bus shelter.”
The passengers on the bus and the driver were unhurt. No further investigation is underway according to the police.
