The American lends her voice to the daughter of Gomez and Morticia in “The Addams Family 2: a hell of a ride”, a film to watch from October 13, 2021.
After having grown up under the public eye by playing in many films, including “Shadow in the Cloud” where she breaks the misogynist and the alien, Chloë Grace Moretz, 24, no longer puts pressure on herself and relishes its professional longevity. For “The Addams Family 2: a hell of a ride”, she played with pleasure Wednesday.
Marginal characters, that knows you …
I’ve always had a penchant for the macabre, dark and twisted universes. Growing up, I wanted to examine this darkness in my roles and immerse myself in it temporarily. Early in my career, I played a 200 year old vampire in “Let Me In”. I find that Wednesday is in the same register.
What attracted you to this sequel to the Addams Family Adventures?
We find out what’s going on in Mercredi’s head and there is nothing scarier than a tormented teenager. And then, it’s nice to accompany the Addams on this road trip. They have to face serious family problems.
Family vacation in a motorhome, does that remind you of memories?
Yes, with my family, we loved road trips. As I grew up in Georgia, we always headed to Florida to go to the beach. I was nauseous in the car all the time, so Moretz family horror stories always ended in vomit.
You started in this profession at 5 years old. Easy to grow up in front of the public eye?
This has varied over time. I regularly take stock of the emotions I feel and what I need. I no longer set myself goals like “you must be at such and such a stage in your life at 30”. In any case, I find it wonderful to have such a long career and to still be as in love with my job as when I was a kid.
