The fact is that the Chinese company Hongqi is planning a new (and serious) attack on the luxury car market. The first step was already taken in 2018 – Hongqi lured Rolls-Royce chief designer Giles Taylor to him. Now the turn of the second step has come – in an interview with Autocar Taylor said that the Chinese company is going to build a new flagship car that will compete with Rolls.
It should be noted that the Chinese brand “Khuntsy” (which translates to Russian as “Red Banner”) has a rich history – under this brand, luxury limousines for the highest Chinese nomenclature began to be made back in 1958.
Perhaps the new luxury sedan will be made in the style of the E115 concept, which was shown in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. What do you think about the plans of the Chinese? Will they really be able to compete with the famous British brand?
