China, from US ship sabotage to stability Taiwan Strait – Last hour

(ANSA) – BEIJING, AUGUST 29 – Under the pretext of freedom of navigation, “American warships show their power: this is not a promise of ‘freedom and openness’, but a provocation that seeks freedom and deliberate sabotage of to unleash regional peace and stability”. Thus, after the passage of the two American cruisers through the Taiwan Strait, the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zhao Lijian, disputed the American reasons according to which the move was in line with the “One China Policy” and was completed “to maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

Zhao recalled what the spokesman for the Eastern Theater Command had already said yesterday that the People’s Liberation Army “will continue to monitor the entire operation of US warships” and that for now “everything is under control”. China, the spokesman concluded, “once again urges the US to stop falsifying, emptying and distorting the One China principle, to violate the basic rules of international relations on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries to respect and not interfere in their internal affairs, seriously honoring the principle of One China and the three joint Sino-American communiques.

In other words, the invitation is “not to be a trouble maker for peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait”. (HANDLE).
