The Kansas City Chiefs have forgotten the bad start to the season, the Arizona Cardinals are back at the top of the NFC even without their star quarterback – and “Sunday Night Football” saw a wild duel between Chargers and Steelers.

After the weak start to the season (3: 4), the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC seemed to be swimming a little bit off the bat. But the Super Bowl winner of 2019 is back on track after the 19: 9 against the Dallas Cowboys at the latest – mainly thanks to fewer injuries and a greatly improved defense.

Rushing touchdowns from tight end Travis Kelce and running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, two field goals from Harrison Butker and a strong defensive performance (including 3.5 sacks from tackle Chris Jones) gave the Chiefs their fourth win in a row. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a quiet evening for his standards (23/37, 260 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT). His opponent Dak Prescott also failed to pass a touchdown, but made two interceptions.

The Chiefs (7: 4) are back at the top of the AFC West, and the Cowboys (8: 3), who have lost two of the last three games, continue to lead the NFC East. However, another receiver, CeeDee Lamb, threatens to fail due to a concussion.

Four touchdowns from Ekeler – Steelers catching up without a crowning glory

Behind the Chiefs are the Los Angeles Chargers (6: 4) in AFC West, who prevailed against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a wild late game with 41:37. The guests started to catch up in the final quarter with 27 points and even took the lead 3:29 minutes before the end. But the Chargers had a response drive over 75 yards ready, at the end of which quarterback Justin Herbert (3 TD, 1 INT, 382 passing yards, 90 rushing yards) fired a 53-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams. Also very strong with the Chargers: running back Austin Ekeler, who carried the ball four times into the end zone.

With the Las Vegas Raiders (5: 5) a third team from AFC West was in action in the late window. Against the Cincinnati Bengals it was the third defeat in a row at 13:32.

Cardinals even without Murray and Hopkins top – Carroll breaks PK off initially

The Arizona Cardinals have taken back the pinnacle of NFC. Although they had to do without quarterback Kyler Murray (ankle) and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (thigh) for the third time in a row, the Seattle Seahawks were no problem at 23:12. The Cardinals improved their record to 9-2, thanks to which they took over Defeat of the Green Bay Packers in Minnesota again at first place and can now breathe a bit in their bye week. Murray representative Colt McCoy threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns.

I struggle to do a good job coaching when we get spanked every week.

Seahawks-Chefcoach Pete Carroll

For the Seahawks (3: 7) the season becomes more and more a disaster after another weak performance on the offensive. A frustrated head coach Pete Carroll cut the press round early after the game, but came back later for a few questions. Carroll admitted that it was difficult for him to deal with the numerous defeats. “I’m not prepared for this,” he admitted. “I find it difficult to do a good job as a coach when we get spanked week after week. This is new territory for me.” It seems almost impossible that the Seahawks can still win a play-off place in the strong NFC West.
