Camélia Jordana soon in “Irresistible”, a Disney + series

Disney+ announces six French productions in 2023, including a series with the singer and actress whose filming has just started in Paris.

Camelia Jordana -here at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021- will star in “Irresistible”, a new Disney+ series.

SERIES – The title role for the first time. Camélia Jordana will soon have the main role of a series; it will be in Irresistible, a romantic comedy that will be broadcast in 2023 on Disney+. The platform announced on Monday January 16 that the filming of the series (6 episodes of 30 minutes) has just started but without giving more details on the broadcast date.

Irresistible is created by Clémence Madeleine-Perdrillat, who directed the writing of season 2 of the Arte series In therapy. Camélia Jordana plays the role of a successful podcast creator who has a crush on a mathematician. But as soon as she finds herself in his presence, she experiences panic attacks due to the trauma left in her by a previous breakup.

The singer and actress is accompanied on screen by Théo Navarro-Mussy (Hippocrates), Simon Ehrlacher (More beautiful life, Ghosts) or Marion Seclin (Christmas Flow). Disney+ explains the series Irresistible a pour cadre «a realistic and authentic Parisfar from the tourist clichés“and is partly turned”in neighborhoods rarely filmed», the 19th and 20th arrondissements.

Disney + wants to surf on the critical success of “Oussekine”

It is one of the six new French productions on the Disney+ menu in 2023. The others are the fiction series The lovers, season 2 (with François Damiens and Vincent Dedienne, available since January 4) and Everything is fine(with Virginie Efira and Nicole Garcia), the documentary series Kaiser Karlon fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, and the films Antigang : la relève et An area to defend.

After notably the critically acclaimed series Oussekine last year, Disney+ wanted to offer “more original French creations“, explained Pauline Dauvin, vice-president in charge of its original content, in a press release presenting its program for 2023. “France is full of talent, with real know-how when it comes to certain genres such as French action, which is particularly successful outside of France.», a-t-elle poursuivi.

In addition to French productions, Disney+ will offer several new international series. Among them, The Full Monty (the sequel to the hit film 25 years later, with the same actors), Ahsokafrom the Star Wars universe, or even Anatomy of a Divorce (with Jesse Eisenberg and Claire Danes).
