BREAKING FIA doctor: “Max has no serious injuries”

Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen has been taken to hospital, but has no serious injuries, according to the FIA doctor.

The 23-year-old Dutchman crashed into turn 7 with Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen had to deal with 52G, which made him feel a bit light-headed. But according to the FIA doctor there are no serious injuries: “Good luck, to say the least. Max got out of the car with a little help and was then taken to hospital for further routine checks.”

About the crash, Dr. Ian Roberts: “When we came around the corner looking at the screens it looked like we were watching a roll. Luckily not. But it was still quite an impressive impact in the tire stacks. I try to check him as soon as possible, but he came out and that’s a good sign. We had to let him relax a bit before we left for the medical center.”

He confirmed to SkySports: “Max has no other serious injuries.”
