NECKARSULM (dpa-AFX) – The IT service provider Bechtle
also earned significantly more in the first quarter thanks to strong demand. The profit increased by 21.4 percent year-on-year to 52.9 million euros, according to the Neckarsulm-based company on Thursday. Last year, Bechtle also formed provisions for risk provision, which largely did not materialize this year. However, delivery bottlenecks are slowing down business: because some components for project-related orders are missing and there is therefore a lot of material in stock, 127.1 million euros in free funds flowed out in the operative business. A year ago, however, the operating cash flow was positive at EUR 20.6 million. Bechtle boss Thomas Olemotz confirmed the forecast for the year – the company hopes that the delivery situation will gradually ease from the second half of the year. “However, the uncertainties are very high,” he added.
Bechtle had already presented preliminary figures for performance in the first quarter. Revenue had grown on a comparable basis by 6.8 percent to 1.38 billion, mainly thanks to the strong development in the online shop, where the company sells IT hardware. At 74 million euros and an increase of 21.4 percent, the pre-tax result was slightly higher than last forecast./men/eas
