The group is thus positioned at the forefront of the global equity markets.

The BNP Paribas banking group announced on Tuesday that it had completed the acquisition of the investment company Exane, previously 50% -owned.

BNP Paribas had announced in March the wish to acquire the capital which it lacked.

“Building on Exane’s recognized expertise in equities (execution and research) and equity derivatives, BNP Paribas will be able to offer a full range of services on equities to institutional investors and companies, anywhere in the world, positioning the group as a a leading player in the global equity markets, ”the bank said in a press release.

Founded in 1990, Exane revolves around three businesses which are equity intermediation, derivatives and asset management.

Since 2004, the company has managed all of the BNP Paribas group’s equity intermediation activities on European securities, under the common brand Exane BNP Paribas.

Significantly strengthened in 2010 and 2011, the partnership agreement between Exane and BNP Paribas was renewed in its entirety in April 2015, and in May 2018 for a period of five years.
