The BMW Supertourer makes a fine show of itself in the range of the Bavarian house almost unchanged since 2017. But it looks like it won’t be that way for much longer. In fact, from some homologation documents it can be deduced that BMW is working on a Euro 5 approved six-cylinder. In the cards there are references to the models K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL e K 1600 B. Manca la K 1600 Grand America.
The 1600 Euro 5 should arrive in 2022 in two power versions: from 79 and 118 kW, which translated into horsepower are 107 and 160. Both, as anticipated, carry the issue code 1530 which stands for Euro 5.
Although there is no confirmation in the homologation documents, it is likely that BMW does not limit itself to updating only the power units. Control systems could also be updated and maybe even installed a new “bridge” similar to that of the R 1250 RT.
