Accordingly, a Microsoft engineer wrote a letter to the company management in 2019 to request a job change. The reason: An affair with Bill Gates, which he began in 2000 and continued for years. She also demanded that Gates’ wife Melinda (56) read the letter.
Microsoft confirmed to the “WSJ” the letter from the employees.
Shortly before, Microsoft had changed its corporate policy after cases of sexual harassment and discrimination became known. The board then hired a law firm to conduct an investigation. The result: In 2020 the committee decided that Gates was no longer sustainable as a board member, since his affair would be “inappropriate” and he would no longer be “suitable” for his post.
