In office since November 2021, does the former Blaugrana midfielder intend to continue the adventure at Camp Nou? Questioned by the press, the 43-year-old man is ready to stay, not without setting his conditions. “The president is a friend. Barca are lucky to have a president like him. The club’s offer to renew my contract made me happy, it’s a sign of absolute confidence but before the renewal we committed ourselves to winning titles. If we win titles, I think the conditions will be ideal to continue the project. I want the club to work well. The day I feel that I am not convincing the players, I will go home.
Under him, Ousmane Dembélé’s partners sit top of La Liga with a solid nine-point lead over Real Madrid. Released by Manchester United in the Europa League play-offs, FC Barcelona won the first leg of the King’s Cup semi-finals against the Merengues (1-0), at Santiago-Bernabeu, before the return match scheduled for April 5 at Camp Nou.
