AvtoVAZ for one day suspended production on the first line, where they assemble models Lada Xray, Lada Largus, Renault Logan and Renault Sanderо, TASS reports with reference to the press service.
This happened due to a lack of electronic components. Their shortage was due to the Bosch Samara company. For a day of downtime, the personnel of the line will receive payment in the amount of 2/3 of the average earnings. This is not the first time the Russian auto giant has shut down production.
In June, AvtoVAZ was also forced to take a break for several days due to a lack of some components.
The company sold 200,219 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles from January to June. This is 51 percent more than in the same period in 2020, and 14.9 percent higher than the results of the first half of 2019. Lada Granta remains the most popular car among Russians.
Since July, AvtoVAZ has increased prices for its products. The smallest increases were seen in Granta and Vesta – by about 2.3 percent. The highest rise in price was for the five-door model of the Niva Legend SUV – by 4.25 percent. Dealers warn that other cars will continue to rise in value in the second half of this year.
