Not only in Vienna – where almost two thirds of intensive care Covid patients The average age of corona patients admitted to the hospital who need an intensive care bed is falling. That shows a View of the data in five other federal states.
Also in Tyrol and Salzburg
Of the four Covid patients – three men and one woman – who had to undergo intensive care in the first week of September in Tyrol, were according to the Ministry of Health two between 30 and 44 years old. Another was older than 45 but not yet 60, someone between 65 and 69 years old.
In Salzburg, where on September 7th ten patients in Covid intensive care units half of them were between 45 and 59 years old. Three were in their sixties and two were between 70 and 79 years old. Seven were men and three women.
Similar figures in Styria and Upper Austria
In the Styrian hospitals 16 severe Covid cases were treated in intensive care on September 7, 63 percent of those affected were men. Three were between 30 and 44 years old, four were over 45 but younger than 54. Five were in their sixties and one in their early seventies. Three were over 80.
In Oberösterreich, where on Tuesday (September 7th), according to the Ministry of Health, 30 ICU patients were recorded in the Covid wards – of them two thirds of the male sex -, two were younger than 30, namely between 15 and 29 years old. Two were between 30 and 44, twelve between 45 and 59 years old. Seven patients were between 60 and 64 years old, two between 65 and 69 years. Five were between 70 and 74 years old.
There are no figures for Carinthia
In the Covid stations in Lower Austria was one of a total of 26 ICU patients in their thirties two days ago. Five were over 40, but not yet 50, ten between 50 and 59 years old. Four seriously ill Covid patients the hospitals in Lower Austria were in their sixties and five in their seventies. One was over 80 years old.
The exact age of the patient was given not made public, in addition, the individual federal states use different age groups. For Vorarlberg, Carinthia and Burgenland the Ministry of Health did not have any current data on the age structure of intensive care patients with Covid.
