Making evaluations about the Ankara-İzmir train, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the distance will be reduced to 3.5 hours and that the line will be completed in 2027.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said, “It is a line that departs from our existing high-speed train line in the Polatlı-Konya direction and goes to Izmir via Manisa. We are talking about a new line of approximately 508 kilometers. When we use the existing high-speed train line, we are talking about 624 kilometers. When we finish here, the time will be reduced to 3.5 hours. We have made significant progress in infrastructure. We made the tender. We delivered the site to our company and started. “Our first planning was that we could finish it in 2028, but in the final evaluation, we planned to open the Ankara-İzmir YHT line in 2027,” he said.
