What a debut: Thanks to a wildcard, Filip Misolic (ATP 205) competed in a tournament at ATP level for the first time at the home tournament in Kitzbühel – and immediately reached the final. In the semifinals, the 20-year-old from Graz beat German Yannick Hanfmann 6:2, 2:6, 7:6 (7:4).
He managed the rebreak in the last second in the deciding set – when Hanfmann served to win the match. The tie-break had to be interrupted on Friday evening after the first point due to rain. On Saturday afternoon, Misolic needed 6 minutes to bag the win.

Because it also rained on Thursday, his quarter-final against Dusan Lajovic didn’t take place until Friday morning. After losing the first set, Misolic won 2:6, 7:6 (7:5), 6:3. Overall, he was on the pitch for almost 4:45 hours on Friday.
No chance in the final
In the final, which he had to contest immediately after the semi-final success, the air was out. Misolic had no chance against Robert Bautista-Agut (ESP/ATP 20) and lost 6-2 and 6-2.
