Thiruvananthapuram – The Opposition has written a letter to the Speaker demanding that the schedule of the Assembly session be changed. The opposition demands that the budget be presented on February 2nd. The letter pointed out that the KPCC’s political march was underway. Previously, the state budget was scheduled for February 5th.
The legislative session begins Jan. 25 with the announcement of the governor’s policies. The KPCC political rally in Samaragni will be held in the state from February 9 to 25. Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan and KPCC president K. Sudhakaran also leads the procession. Opposition leader VD called on the Speaker and the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs to make a rearrangement to avoid the Assembly meeting on these dates. Satheesan gave the letter. The budget presentation on February 5th is to be postponed to February 2nd. Public debates on the budget were scheduled to take place on the 5th and 6th. The letter also asked to make arrangements for UDF members to take part in the march and avoid the assembly session from February 9 to 25.
The opposition has another point of criticism about the budget proposal. The budget is usually presented on Friday. But this time the budget presentation is on Monday. If the budget is presented on Friday, then the budget will be presented on February 2nd and public debate on the budget will end on the 5th and 6th of Monday, as requested by the opposition. The opposition also claimed that the government took such a step ahead of the march. The government is likely to comply with the opposition’s demand.
