Buenos Aires: The Argentine Ministry of Health announced that deaths with Covid-19 crossed the threshold of 3 thousand Monday in the country, while the South American country is considering the possibility of strengthening the closure measures.

During the past 24 hours alone, 121 were recorded, which is the largest daily death toll in the country since the start of the epidemic, bringing the total number of deaths to 3059. Argentina counted 164,403 injuries, including 4,890 injuries in one day. 1002 patients were admitted to intensive care in the hospital, and the occupancy rate in this department was 54.2 per cent nationwide and 63.5 per cent in the Buenos Aires region alone.

The capital and its environs are the epicenter of the disease

Ninety percent of the new infections are concentrated in the capital and its suburbs, but the health authorities announced the outbreak of the epidemic in most of the country’s provinces. The capital region began easing quarantine measures last week, which is tentatively set to end on August 2.

This reduction has led to the resumption of industries, work in local stores, and some professional activities, as well as sports and worship. The strict restrictions imposed on Buenos Aires and its region, where 14 million people live, were eased before they were reimposed from July 1 to 17 to face a second wave of infections.
