Fans of the “Steirerkrimi” series will in future have to do without one of the figureheads of the ORF and ARD production. Because as Eva Herzig (48) announced on Facebook, she will no longer be in the fifth film. In four episodes, she previously played forensic investigators Eva Merz in the Austrian thrillers.
The reason for their film-off: Herzig does not want to be vaccinated. “If I don’t get vaccinated, I won’t be able to do any more“ Styrian crime stories ”. In the fall, the new shooting will start without me, ”she writes on social media. And explains in an interview with “Bild”: “This vaccination is still too unexplored for me. I’ve read too many reports about vaccine damage. The long-term consequences of a vaccination are also not yet clear. “
“I cannot and will not bend myself”
She emphasizes that she is not a corona denier, but on her social media she doubts the death rate and warns of allegedly serious vaccine damage. The decision not to be vaccinated was difficult for her: “This means that I am missing an income that I have firmly planned for. I am a single mother of two children, whom of course I have to look after. But I can’t and don’t want to bend. So I don’t get vaccinated, no matter what I’m threatened with. ” Should she no longer be able to work as an actress in the future because of this attitude, she wants to change her profession.
Helmut Grasser, managing director of the “Steierkrimi” production company Allegro Film, justified the decision with a “principle of duty of care”: “In a production like the“ Steirerkrimis ”there are around 50 people on the set for whom we as the production company are responsible . This includes urgently and without a doubt that everything is to be avoided that could endanger the health of employees. ” (klm)
