At the Apple event on September 14, the Cupertino company announced a series of devices. And one of its main attractions is the new Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatch.

As for the screen, it covers 20 percent more of the surface compared to the previous Apple Watch. Plus, the bezels around it are slimmer (measuring just 1.7mm) and the always-on display mode is now 70 percent brighter.

However, that does not mean that the panel is more delicate. On the contrary, according to Apple, it has a more resistant glass with IP6X certification. In addition, it has a WR50 water resistance. That way, it can be used in places full of dirt or with a lot of rain without problems.

The company also streamlined the watch’s interface by integrating redesigned virtual buttons to complement the new display and adding a comfortable keyboard, which can be typed or swiped. In addition, there is a completely new set of watch faces to take advantage of the extensive display.

Regarding the battery, the Apple Watch Series 7 offers 18 hours of battery life and charges 33 percent faster than the Series 6. In the same way, it includes a USB-C charger instead of a USB-A one.

On the other hand, the small Apple Watch went from measuring 40mm to 41mm, and the large watch from 44mm to 45mm, meaning they are the company’s largest watches to date.

With WatchOS 8 comes a ton of new features too, including some that offer more support for cyclists. With these, the workout set on the watch will stop automatically if you stop at a red light or take a break. It can even detect if you suffer a fall and gives options to contact emergency services.

The Apple Watch Series 7 will start at $ 399, the Watch SE will be available for $ 279, and the Watch Series 3 will remain at $ 199.
