Chita will not take part in the 2022/23 season of the Second League (former FNL-2), despite the fact that it previously received a license from the Russian Football Union (RFU).
“Due to the lack of the required amount of funding, it was decided to focus resources on the development of children’s and youth football. We save: “Chita-M”, teams that take part in the Youth Football League, children’s teams and the DFC. We believe that working with the younger generation of young football players will definitely bring results and professional football will return to the Trans-Baikal Territory,” the club said in a statement.
Last season FNL-2 “Chita” took the penultimate place in the standings.
