Today, Thursday, German press reports blew up a heavy-caliber surprise related to Manchester City’s contract with Norwegian Erling Halland.
Manchester City had officially concluded an agreement with Borussia Dortmund regarding the contract with Haaland, after paying the penalty clause, which amounts to 75 million euros, and the player will be in the ranks of the Citizens starting from next July 1.
And according to the German newspaper “Bild”, Erling Haaland has a release clause of 150 million euros on his contract with Manchester City.
She added that Manchester City was keen from the beginning to secure Halland from the ambitions of other clubs, by setting a penalty clause and preventing any club from including the Norwegian star in the next two years.
The same newspaper confirmed that the surprise comes in that the penalty clause will be effective during the third year of the player’s contract with Manchester City.
Which means that any club can get Haaland after the next two workers by paying Manchester City’s release clause of 150 million euros.
