The epicenter of earthquake -meaning at 7:26 am- was located 12 kilometers west of Juliaca, in the province of San Román, at a depth of 240 kilometers.

According to him IGPthe tremor was felt with intensity of grade III on the Mercalli scale in the city of Juliaca.

Local authorities have not reported material damage or victims.

Emergency backpack before an earthquake

Water, non-perishable food and first aid items, among others, must be included in the emergency backpack that the population will use in case of earthquakes, recalled the National Institute of Civil Defense (He hesitated).

This backpack with basic elements must be loaded at the time of evacuation to face the first day of crisis, and contains a first aid kit and hygiene items such as antibacterial gel (one bottle), toilet paper (two units), hand towels and face (four units) and wet cloths.
