The OVV is launching a new service with bottles and specialties delivered by bike in one hour.
It’s a somewhat crazy project to which Benjamin Gehrig, the dynamic director of theVaud wine office. He was keen on it, so he did it and he is launching it on Tuesday June 8: to offer Zurich residents a Vaud aperitif delivery service in one hour. “If we want to win back the German-speaking Swiss and young people, we have to offer them something that suits their way of life,” he explains. And young people today rarely have a cellar in their apartment, much less a Vaud wine cellar.
The OVV set up its project with Vaud +, the new brand promoting local products. And he found in Zurich the partner ready to pedal at the same pace, Veloblitz, a fast urban courier service. With MeinApero.ch, Zurich residents can therefore order a bottle online (from CHF 15.50) and optionally add something to feed their aperitif. All on the site, payment included.
For the liquid, the offer will evolve according to a tournament. At launch, a Chasselas from Jean-Daniel Porta, a barrel gamaret from Château du Rosey and a traditional method sparkling wine from Daniel and Valérie Marendaz should seduce, especially since they offer a small panorama of cantonal AOCs. For the solid, the aperitif board for two (30 fr.) Is available in Gruyère AOP, Lake Geneva terrine, smoked meat, popcorn and local crackers. And the OVV has also thought of the equipment, offering additional corkscrews or glasses if necessary.
The communication campaign (in Hochdeutsch) is distinguished with the slogan “Attraktiv, elegant, kraftvoll, lebendig” all in green and white. “We chose Zurich as the test city because that’s where there is the greatest potential. If it works, we will expand to other cities, ”says Benjamin Gehrig. We would almost dream of having the same one in Lausanne.
