Michelle Gisin is not in the selection of Swiss-Ski for the speed races of the weekend in Zauchensee. The Obwaldenian feels tired and forces herself to take a break from the competition.

Embarrassed in her preparation for the season by mononucleosis, Gisin had nevertheless come back strong in the World Cup. Before the New Year, she had taken 3rd place in the giant in Courchevel and was on the podium for the first time this winter in slalom in Lienz.

However, the intensive program with races in all four disciplines left its mark on the body of the skier from Engelberg. After her elimination on Tuesday evening in the Schladming slalom, the 3rd in the general classification of the World Cup had difficulty in hiding her emotions at the microphone of the SRF.

“I am really, very, very tired”

The last three weeks have been so intensive. It is certainly extremely cool that I can do all the races. Now I’m really, really tired and that’s why I’m also a little emotional. I need a break now and I hope I’ll be ready for Cortina again“, dropped the Olympic champion in the 2018 combined. The weekend after, Cortina will organize a downhill and a Super-G.
