In the French capital, 96 people were detained at a demonstration against sanitary passes. This was reported by the BFM TV channel.
On September 11, about 121 thousand people took part in the demonstrations throughout the country, of which 19 thousand were in Paris. During the protest, three police officers were injured.
Demonstrations against “covid passports” have been taking place in France for the ninth week. Protesters accuse French President Emmanuel Macron of “abuse of power” and “coup d’etat” due to new restrictive measures. Last week, about 140 thousand people took to the streets, and in the previous week – 165 thousand and 175 thousand people. To disperse the demonstrators, law enforcement officers use tear gas, water cannons and batons.
In turn, Macron promised that the country’s authorities will not succumb to violence from the protesters and will continue to pursue an antiquated policy.
