The journeys between Peso da Régua and Tua made by the CP Historical Train started again this weekend and run until October 30th.
Along the river Douro, the steam locomotive and five historic carriages travel the distance from Régua to Tua, in a unique journey into the past, marked by the beauty of the landscape classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
For now, trips are only available on Saturdays, but from August 1st to October 10th, it will also be possible to take the tour on Sunday.
According to information from CP, the trip departs Régua at 15:28 and returns at 18:26 with a stop in Pinhão, continuing on to Tua and back.
Entertainment before the match with a music group and traditional songs from the region and a toast with a Porto Ferreira. You can also taste the Régua sweets, a tradition to be fulfilled by those who visit this region.
At the Pinhão Station, you can watch the water supply to the CP 0186 steam locomotive, built in 1925. You can also take the opportunity to admire the famous tile panels that decorate the station’s walls and portray the landscape and the life of people on land. Douro.
