Aldi gives in: These products are now flying off the shelves

Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd will no longer sell beef from Brazil. In doing so, they want to position themselves clearly against deforestation in the Amazon region, as the company writes in a press release.

Despite bans, large parts of the rainforest are still being cleared in Brazil in order to gain grazing land. dr Tanja Hacker, Managing Director Category Management and National Buying at Aldi Nord, says: “As an international retailer with global supply chains, we want to take our share of the responsibility to counteract the destruction of threatened forest areas.”
