Akinfeev named the name of a possible successor to CSKA – 08/06/2022

“Who can you imagine at the gates of CSKA? It is easy to imagine Vladislav Torop. We in the team call him Slava. Everything is in his hands – a great prospect, a great talent.

Everything will depend on him. He should just always think with his head. I always talk to him at the base for a long time. He has many strong qualities. God forbid that he grows into a great goalkeeper, ”Akinfeev said on Match TV.

Akinfeev is a graduate of CSKA. The goalkeeper made his debut in the Russian Championship on May 31, 2003 in a victorious match against Samara Krylya Sovetov (2: 0) at the age of 16 and was able to deflect a penalty. During his career, he won the Russian championship six times and became the winner of the UEFA Cup. As part of the Russian national team, he won bronze medals at Euro 2008 and reached the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup.
