It’s Agriculture Health and Safety Week, until March 19.
The Commission for Standards, Equity, Health and Safety at Work (CNESST) joins forces with the Union of Agricultural Producers (UPA) to raise awareness among farmers of the importance of accident prevention work and occupational diseases on Quebec farms.
For the Chaudière-Appalaches region, between 2016 and 2020, two workers lost their lives following an agricultural accident, 578 were injured in an accident in this sector.
Both entities emphasize the importance of offering conditions that avoid the risk of accidents and occupational diseases; identify and analyze risks, establish priorities and assign responsibilities in particular.
