About 150 people tried to disrupt Burbock’s speech in Germany about arms supplies to Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock on Saturday, April 30, spoke in northern Germany about the situation in Ukraine. The event was disrupted by about 150 people out of a total of 1,000, the Zeit newspaper reported, citing police. Another speech by the minister was canceled for security reasons: unknown people sprayed butyric acid over the stage.

The event was held in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein in Ahrensburg. Mrs. Burbock spoke about arms supplies to Ukraine. According to police, protesters turned on sirens and called the minister a “warmonger” and a “liar.”

Western countries have increased the supply of weapons to Ukraine against the background of the Russian military operation, which has been carried out since February 24 on the orders of President Vladimir Putin. According to Reuters, Germany is exploring the possibility of supplying self-propelled howitzers. Before the military operation, Berlin was opposed to sending weapons to Ukraine.
