the essential The Cultura brand will offer a special sales operation this Saturday. The 104 French stores will sell 1.2 million children’s books at the price of one euro.
There could be a lot of people this Saturday March 4 on the shelves of the 104 Cultura stores in France. As indicated by our colleagues from Le Monde, the brand will sell more than a million children’s books at the price of one euro. “For us, this is not a commercial operation, but a societal act. We will just cover our costs”, explains to our colleagues Éric Lafraise, director of external relations for the brand.
The “Reading is leaving” association is behind this operation, which will last only one day. The organization has been fighting for several decades to facilitate access to literature for young people in the country. The association was working at the time to save the works that were destined to be destroyed. Today, it publishes its own books, and has nearly 250 references in its catalog.
Usually, “Reading is leaving” offers its works at 80 cents. For this sale operation, Cultura will therefore receive 20 cents per book sold.
