ARRIVES IN 2022 – The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is the new dream hypercar of the French company that presents new aerodynamics and improved performance. Based on the Chiron, it was designed to maximize performance without sacrificing luxury and comfort. The French company owned by the Volkswagen Group will start production of the Chiron Super Sport in Molsheim, with deliveries expected by 2022. The price per unit is 3.2 million euros.
AERODYNAMICS FROM 440 KM / H – The aerodynamics and shapes of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport have been revised, while still remaining consistent with the car’s original design. In fact, the engineers have worked to ensure maximum downforce, as the car reaches 440 km / h (at this speed the lifting forces are maximum).
Clearly, however, to be fast a car must cut through the air well, so the technicians, in order to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, enlarged the rear and enlarged the cross section of the speaker, “pushing” the trailing edge higher. This made it possible to reduce the rear exit area by 44 percent. According to the engineers, this resulted in less drag. Overall, the rear is wider and lower; the long tail helps keep laminar airflow attached to the car body for as long as possible. To enhance the diffuser effect, Bugatti moved the otherwise central exhaust system to the side, with the tailpipes aligned vertically.
Even the front of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport it has been modified and is now more inclined. Also new are the aluminum wheels with a five-spoke Y design. The magnesium wheels of the Chiron Pur Sport are available as an option, further reducing the weight of the unsprung mass.
INTERNI OPULENTI – The interior, opulent as per tradition, features a blend of elements such as leather and polished aluminum, along with carbon fiber applications.
WHAT A “MONSTER” – To push the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport there is the well-known 8-liter W16, which has been completely revised with 100 hp more than the Chiron, bringing the overall power to 1,598 hp. At the same time, the overall weight was reduced by 23 kg. Engineers made changes to the turbochargers, oil pump and cylinder head, as well as the transmission and clutch. These changes allowed an increase of 300 revolutions per minute to reach a value of 7,100. The 1,600 Nm of torque are now available from 2,000 to 7,000 rpm.
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport accelerates from 0 to 200 km / h in 5.8 seconds, reaching 300 km / h in 12.1 seconds. According to the house, it accelerates from 0 to 400 km / h 17% faster than a Chiron.
REVISED SET-UP – The engineers also worked on the chassis of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport. According to the manufacturer, the steering is more “consistent” and the shock absorbers more rigid. Changes have also been made to the electronically controlled chassis that adjusts the car’s settings in real time, adapting to driving behavior. The newly developed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, optimized to ensure maximum performance at high speeds, ensure the right footprint on the road.
