The record depreciation of the Turkish Lira after the interest rate cut by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) on Thursday brought the people to the streets. Last night, many individuals and groups in different parts of the country protested against the economy administration. Voices of “government resignation” were heard in the protests.

In a statement on his Twitter account, economist Murat Sağman also blamed AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the economic crisis created by the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the dollar. Saying that President Erdogan of the AKP dismissed Naci Ağbal “without reason”, Sagman reminded that the Turkish lira lost 80 percent of its value after Kavcıoğlu took office.

CBRT President Kavcıoğlu met with President Erdoğan of the AKP yesterday at the Palace, and this meeting led to questions such as “Will he be dismissed?”
