65 doctors of specialties of Medical-Surgical Emergencies and Family Medicine of the IMSS in Sinaloa graduate


Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Sinaloa, concerned and busy with improving its care and the quality of its services, has permanent training of medical specialists in different locations of the entity, proof of this is the discharge of 65 residents of Family Medicine and Medical Surgical Emergencies.

The 2019-2022 generation culminates with their residencies in a total of 54 new doctors specialized in Family Medicine, who carried out their specialization in the Family Medicine Unit (UMF) No. 46 of the state capital.

He also reported that 11 new specialists trained at the Institute graduated from the specialty in Medical-Surgical Emergencies offered by the Regional General Hospital (HGR) No. 1 in the city of Culiacán.

Today the health offer to Sinaloans is strengthened, since 54 doctors are graduating from the specialty in Family Medicine, in addition to 11 from Medical-Surgical Emergencies, which is a great benefit for us as an Institute, because each time they are plus the specialists graduated from our residences.

The head of the IMSS in Sinaloa recalled that as of this year 2022 there will be 506 new spaces for the training of doctors in eight different specialties with terminal residences in different locations in the state, as well as a subspecialty in HGR No. 1.

“In the IMSS Sinaloa we already have eight terminal residences in the specialties of Family Medicine, Medical-Surgical Emergencies, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesiology, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Traumatology and Orthopedics, in addition to the terminal residence in the subspecialty of Neonatology” , reported.

During the closing ceremony of the medical residences of the 2019-2022 generation held at the “Óscar Liera” theater of the IMSS in Culiacán, the new specialists received recognition from the authorities of the Sinaloa representation, as well as from leaders of the Union National Social Security Workers (SNTSS).

In his participation, the Secretary General of Section XI Sinaloa of the SNTSS, Dr. Alfredo Jiménez Noriega, invited the new medical specialists to find spaces to exercise their new knowledge and always maintain an attitude of service, he also thanked the staff having faced the challenge of treating COVID-19 patients at the Institute as the first line of care.

“Wherever you have to be and perform, do your best, treat the patient as you would like to be treated, that is the best we can do. I also congratulate you and greatly appreciate the effort that all the doctors have made in this pandemic, especially you who continued with your academic training,” he commented.

Also present at the ceremony was Dr. Josué Camberos Barraza, academic secretary of the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, directors of hospitals and training units, as well as members of the Governing Body and members of the Sectional Committee of the SNTSS.
